It’s a unique time we find ourselves in. And if you are pregnant, about to give birth or will birth sometime in the near future, you probably have a lot of unknowns and things on your mind.
I want to help, and I know that a lot of people are experiencing big financial changes and uncertainty so I have put together a list of free resources for you to check out. We have so much information at our fingertips, and now more than ever you may need to draw on that information. This is a living document and I will continue to add resources as they become available. If you know of a free resource that is helpful for those currently birthing, please let me know so I can add it to the list.
But first, a note on switching care providers.
A lot of people are now looking at switching to a home birth or planning a home birth for their pregnancy as they want to avoid hospitals and their policies surrounding support people. In Perth, there are 2 options for a home birth that do not involve free birthing (birth without a midwife in attendance).
They are independent midwives, and the Community Midwifery Program. Find the list of Perth Independent Midwives providing birth attendance here, and more information on the CMP here. Usually you need to get in early, however the CMP does have places open up from people leaving the program throughout their pregnancy so it is always worth checking, no matter how far along in your pregnancy you are.

Now more than ever it is important to be your own biggest advocate in birth, and for your support person to also have their wits about them – for you, for baby and for your family unit. I have very affordable online doula services available – check those out here as well as online birth education which you can check out here for those wanting extra support.
